Most retailers did wait until after Halloween to put the bulk of their Christmas sales out, they taking over the shelves now. Many Black Friday ads have been "leaked" so consumers can begin their shopping routes.

I love the holidays and everything that comes with them. I make gifts for my co-workers. I am making gifts for my family this year for our Homemade Holiday. My 4 year old son is also getting in on the action so we can have a holiday that I hope we'll talk about for years. We bake cookies and I have finally conquered the sugar cookie and the cookie cutters. I'm no Ace of Cakes but we have a lot of fun and the cookies taste pretty good too!

To get all of my projects completed, I have to start early. I don't know how everything is going to work out this year, but I'm still optimistic. I know there will still be a few last minute gifts and scrambling to get finished. I'm human and the perfect holiday happens because of a lot of imperfections. I'll need to be reminded of this as it gets closer. 

Your customer's want to be remembered for their patronage all year too. Whether they get a thank you a month before Christmas, or two weeks after, they will remember your generosity. Calendars are the most visible specialty advertising product available. Take the time to pick out a special calendar for your customers.

I've learned since having a child that I don't have the perfect Christmas tree with purple and silver decorations. Each year we add our family ornaments and homemade ornaments and it looks more perfect each year.

I just hope that I can keep my optimistic attitude that it will all work out in time...
